Bad Day at the Tables...

I played in three No Limit Sit & Go (NL SNG) tournamnets on Party Poker this morning and I had a rough time. I finished in 4th place twice and 6th place once. The top three places get paid and make it into "the money". Fourth place pays... the same as last place... jack shit!!

What happened?

The first tournament ended up being the best chance I had to win the entire thing and walk away with 50% of the prize money!! At one point, I held the chip lead. The crazy and most difficult aspect of No Limit poker... is that you can double you chips in one bet and loose it all as well!! Inside of just a few hands... I went from first place to fourth and got bounced. I didn't know what hit me! In Level 3, with the blinds $25-$50 I lost 1/4 of my chips when my pocket aces (the best starting hand!) got cracked!! I was not happy and I was in last place. I went "all-in" with A-K in the next level to get my chips over $1000... I stole some blinds and was up to $1300... and then it got interesting. I had A-Q quited and I went all-in against A-A!! I should have lost becuase I was a heavy underdog! Alas... I got a Queen on the flop and caught another on the river!! I got three of a kind! I then had over $3000 in chips and was the chip leader. I bullied everyone around, stealing blinds and built my stack up to $4200 and with four players remaining... things got ugly. My A-K lost to a Q-J on the river and I was knocked out when I went all-in. The river helped me before and fucked me as well. Fourth place sucks.

The second tournament was rough. I did not get any cards and I was shortstacked most of the tourney. But I gutted out a 6th place win...

The last tournament was an up and downer. I was down early and made a huge run. I went from last to fourth place in one hand when I got A-K again... I caught a King on the river to double up my chips to about $1000 and took over fourth place. Then the action was fast and the blinds came around too quick and I got caught trying to steal the blinds from a blind stealer. Oh well... fourth place again. That really sucks. One more spot and I was had finsihed in the money!!
